Diane & Ken - Rancho Palos Verdes

I feel really lucky to have my job. I feel like I have the best clients and Diane and Ken are no exception. We had a lot of fun doing our engagement shoot together so I knew that we were going to have a good time photographing the wedding. The ceremony was at Seafarer's Chapel in Rancho Palos Verdes - which is on a peninsula in the center of LA. The chapel is beautiful. One of the best I've ever been in and fabulous in every way - except for the church nazi.

We were running late - thanks to a very slow hair-makeup girl - so the lady literally kicked us out right after the ceremony. She also managed to get in the way whenever possible. She wouldn't even let us photograph the bride and her father walking down the aisle to the alter. I bring this up so that anyone getting married there can politely ask her to try to stay out of the way.

Still, that doesn't stop us from doing our best and getting the shot.

Fortunately, we had plenty of time after the ceremony to play around and get some fun shots. (Diane is a bit of a ham even if she doesn't like to admit it. ;-) All around Palos Verdes, there's gorgeous views of LA if you know where to look. Sometimes though it's the simpler ones that stand out.

Then it was off to La Venta Inn which is the oldest building on the peninsula. Absolutely gorgeous location. I thought that the staff was going to be difficult to deal with since they had faxed over a rather onerous set of rules that we had to agree to. But they couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. Rain had been in the weather forecast, but the evening couldn't have been more beautiful - even if it was a little chilly. (Seems to be a common theme as of late.)

Congrat's Ken and Diane! You're wonderful!

John
