DeAnn & Ramsey in Carmel

The night before the wedding, the rain came down in sheets and then turned to hail. Snow fell in the mountains just a few miles from the beach. And it was cold. The weather forecast had nothing but bad news. I was to meet with DeAnn and Ramsey the afternoon before the wedding for a quick engagement shoot, but I just didn't think it was going to happen. Amazingly, the skies cleared, the wind died down and and the sun even came out for a peek or two. All in all, it was a perfect evening.

The following day also had lots of rain in the forecast. And rain it did all night. By midday, the black clouds cleared out, replaced by picture-perfect puffy pink clouds. The unfortunate problem was that the air was absolutely freezing so the planned for outdoor wedding got moved indoors. The wedding and reception was held at the Tehama Golf Club in Carmel. It's owned by Clint Eastwood and elegantly done. The view from the reception was absolutely gorgeous.

DeAnn was a trooper. The ground was soaked and her heels were sinking in as we were shooting. Not only that, it was absolutely freezing. I had a fat down jacket on and was cold, I don't know how she did it in her sleeveless wedding dress.

Here's a couple that I shot with the 4x5:

The first kiss.

And the last kiss. Well, the last one that we saw anyhow. ;-)
