2006's First Engagement Shoot
On days like today, my job is easy (and fun). :-) We started off in San Diego's Balboa Park. We met up for a drink at the Prado restaurant where we had a chance to get reacquainted. Often times the engagement shoot takes place months after I last met the client so I like to just spend some time chatting to help us all feel a little more comfortable with each other.
While Khary ran off to the car, Andrea and I played around near the Museum of Photographic Arts.

After warming up at the park, we headed to downtown San Diego.

I'm always looking for backgrounds to play off of. It's fun because you're running around and shooting but you still have to think on your feet. I guess I should mention that I really try to create images that are different from the run of the mill engagement or wedding images. My goal is to create unique work that speaks to the lives and personalities of my subjects.

After roaming around downtown, we ended up photographing at the W Hotel.

I don't know how I came up with this idea, but I thought it was kind of funny. We snuck in, nailed the shot and split. :-)

Thanks to Khary & Andrea for being great subjects! See you at the Hotel Del Coronado in June.
